Each year in Woodstown, the downtown is decorated with scarecrows and the last Saturday in September is reserved for the Woodstown Fall Festival, an annual event that draws out all of the towns people as well as tourists from around the region.
The day begins with "April's Run" - a 5k run/walk in memory of April Pettit to benefit the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Marlton Park.
The festival officially opens at 10am as the Main Street is closed and vendors line the sides of the street selling their food, crafts and wares. Music plays from the various stages set around the town; the air is filled with the smell of chili as contestants fight for bragging rights about who's chili is the best; the scarecrows are judged and the mayor is dunked in a dunk tank at the kids' zone.
The festival also features a wine tasting area where local South Jersey wineries bring out their best wines for the local's to taste. Wines from Woodstown's own Auburn Road Vineyards & Winery are always a favorite among the locals.
